Product Description
6x36 (14/7+7/7/1) - IWRC Stainless Steel Wire Rope Marine Grade Luffing ropes
Stainless steel or galvanized steel strand, wire rope or cable, is a uniform helical arrangement of wires concentrically stranded together for a variety of operating conditions. These constructions have different properties which are designed for specific applications.
The STRAND constructions have larger wires, increased abrasion resistance, and less flexibility. In small sizes, they are useful as fishing lines and leaders, light guying and lanyards; in larger sizes, as guy strand, standard rigging on boats and other applications where flexibility of the cable is not essential.
The CABLE constructions have more wires and are consequently more flexible with less abrasion resistance. This type of construction has applications in automotive, appliances, boating, instrumentation, aviation, agriculture, hobbies, medicine, recreation, etc.
6x36 is the most flexible of our stainless steel wire ropes. Available in much larger diameters, 6x36 stainless steel wire ropes are often used for larger diameter stainless steel slings as well as for general engineering applications. The wire rope has an equal lay construction (warrington seale) and achieves a superior breaking load to the 6x19 construction range. 6x36 construction has been designed to give a flexible rope with a good fatigue life. 6x36 wire rope is available with either FC (fibre core) or IWRC (independent wire rope core) and is used for a wide range of applications, including:
