Yes you can probably use a rope but how long is it going to last if you are moving to allot of logs. We know what the capabilities are of the log choker cable but what are the capabilities of the rope? I have moved 50 plus logs with my choker cable and it has not frayed or been damaged.

whatever you can wrap it around you can drag off, the more you pull the tighter it gets and when you stop it release's, i just read another post that say's it may be too short. well i have wrapped it around a huge pile of branches and then hooked a tow rope to the small end and away you go.
